As the Wildfire quick spreads over extensive regions of the Los Angeles region, it has ravaged quantities of Southern California, forcing thousands of owners to evacuate their homes.
On Tuesday, January 7, the first fire broke out in Pacific Palisades. Videos depict destruction within the coastal neighbourhood; Maria Shriver, a resident of Pacific Palisades, wrote on Instagram, "Heartbreaking, devastating, beyond notion."
About the Wildfire
Then came the Eaton Fire (also known as the Close Fire), or wildfire which started at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and spread over 10,000 acres near Pasadena and Altadena by late Wednesday morning. On Wednesday, January 8, at 6:15 a.m., the Woodley Fire was burning, engulfing 75 acres.To the north of that, the Hurst Fire began at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday and continued until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, spreading to a total area of roughly 500 acres. At the time of writing, the Tyler Fire, the sixth fire, was 50% contained after starting west of Los Angeles, close to Coachella.
Celebrities share the loss they face due to wildfire
Celebrities who've lived inside the neighbourhood for many years have been many of the greater than 80,000 folks that had been uprooted. Several have tested that their homes have been destroyed, together with Anna Faris, Ricki Lake, Cary Elwes, Cameron Mathison, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, Leighton Meester, and Adam Brody.
Those who are grieving the loss of their homes in wildfire include Ricki Lake. "Everything is gone. It still amazes me that I am typing these words. With an emotional message that included a carousel of photos she took in earlier times, she wrote, "After a valiant and brave effort by our friend and hero @kirbykotler_ Ross and I lost our dream home."
In a devastating video of wildfire that he sent to Instagram, soap opera actor Cameron Mathison showed the remnants of his house. "We're secure." But this is what’s left of our beautiful home. He added beneath the image, "Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday."
In a statement given to PEOPLE, Billy Crystal acknowledged that he and his family, including his wife of over 55 years, Janice—had lost their house.According to PEOPLE, Anna Faris lost the house in the Pacific Palisades where she and her family resided.
