Meri Brown and Janelle Brown have previously acknowledged that they did not have a close relationship with Kody Brown during their protracted multiple marriages.
Following their separation from a shared residence, the Sister Wives stars' relationship became aloof and chilly after their tense early marriage. Still, Janelle has plenty of knowledge regarding what went on between Meri Brown and their shared spouse.
Over the years, there have been several discussions about Meri Brown's formal divorce from Kody Brown. In season 19, Sister Wives brought up the subject once more. Seeing how much tea the original spouses are now willing to pour after leaving Kody behind has been very fascinating.
Janelle Brown’s reaction on Meri Brown’s divorce
During a recent episode, Janelle remarked that she recalled believing Meri Brown had no idea of the formal divorce. She claimed that she never imagined Meri would decide to dissolve the legal marriage because she always believed it to be necessary.
She continued by pointing out that Kody was already favouring his fourth wife, which made her doubt the bond he had developed with Robyn Brown. Janelle hinted that Meri Brown might have been coerced by Kody and Robyn into consenting to a formal divorce.
Meri Brown acknowledged during her confessional that she and Kody had discussed a formal divorce on several occasions. She claimed that she postponed it in the hopes of improving her connection with Kody before approaching him.
Meri Brown made the decision to "pull the band-aid off" and start the procedure after it became evident that it was unlikely to occur. Meri started the process, but it was immediately apparent from her statements that the idea wasn't hers. She was probably continuously prodded to take the step by Kody.
